A mathematical analysis of an activator-inhibitor Rho GTPase model

<p style='text-indent:20px;'>Recent experimental observations reveal that local cellular contraction pulses emerge via a combination of fast positive and slow negative feedbacks based on signal network composed Rho, GEF Myosin interactions [<xref ref-type="bibr" rid="b22">22</xref>]. As an examplary, we propose to study plausible, hypothetical temporal model mirrors general principles feedback, hallmark for activator-inhibitor models. The methodology involves (?) qualitative analysis unravel system switching between different states (stable, excitable, oscillatory bistable) through parameter variations; (?) numerical bifurcation using the feedback mediator concentration as parameter, (?) sensitivity quantify effect uncertainty output dynamic regimes system; (?) simulations predictions. Our methodological approach supports role mathematical computational models in unravelling mechanisms molecular developmental processes provides tools this nature.</p>
